Sunset(s) Week(s) 18-24
I know that I haven't posted sunsets in a while. Many have asked why. Allow me to answer everyone at the same time. Call it procrastination, laziness, or great weather so I have been outside instead of in, but I have been taking some pics. So here, forgive me that it is all on the same posts. Many are from my latest trips, including Hawaii and Oregon. I forsaw that I may have "lean" sunset weeks so I thought I would fill them in with these. Again I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I did taking them.
This picture was taken in Hawaii, O'ahu, Sharks Cove. I love how the rays reflect off the ocean.
Here I totally missed the sun. We saw a great sunset. I told Scott to stop the car. It took only 30 seconds for him to stop and us to get out of the car. Yet it was already gone. There was no Hawaiian time for this sun. It slipped away too fast for us. It was taken again in Hawaii, Kaanapali Maui.
We did a better job of parking the car for this sunset, but I had to walk about 250 yards to get close enough to take ths picture. I know the measurements because it was a football field and then a soccer field, and then a basketball court I had to cross. (Mind you I had to carry Keaolani th whole time too! I was trying to work off some of the delicious ono foods we pigged out on in Hawaii. Especially the Luau that Bessie and I made for the Harris'.
This cool pic was taken on the famous North Shore. Can you believe that I just stuck the camera out of the car to take this pic. I was on a mission to take many sunset pics. Everyone was cool with it, at least to my face. The light on the retaining wall is not the sunset, it is the car next to us with his headlights on. But the one coming from the sun is fo reel brah.
This is an Oregonian sunset, actually sunrise. I am a sucker for the sun rays to shine through the trees. I like the dramatic effect.
This picture I took today in Bodega Bay. I had a conference to go to for work for the weekend. The facilities were pretty spread out and you needed good walking shoes because you had to literally hike from the conference hall to the dining area. Doing that I was able to get this shot. Again it is the sun rays shining through the trees.
I thought that I was done for taking sunset pics this weekend but while going to a birthday party (a really cool one I must say.) There was a fire in the Napa hills and the sun was engulfed with smoke. Kind of erie...By my count I have 24 sunsets posted I need to be at 26 by the end of this week. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Sunset Week 17
Here is a sunset Jen and Scott took of us during our best dinner ever at the Hula Grill in Maui. If you can go to this place, make sure you go early enough to catch the sunset, and sit next to the grassy area. you'll get good food, live entertainment and one of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see.

Sunset Week 14
Dinner and sunset on Kaanapali. I have give credit where credit is due. This picture was Jenny's idea. She actually took a way better shot than this. But I am the blog addict so I published my cheap imitation first. Ah ha.

Sunset Week 12
Sunset Week 11
Here is a photo from the front of the house. I was getting ready to go to one of my Saturday classes, and I saw this orange glow coming from behind the houses across the street. I thought it was cool. Hope you do too.

Sunset Week 10
The famous Tower Lift Bridge in Sacramento provides the background for this weeks sunset. This bridge was created in 1926 and was the first bridge of its kind on the California roadways. I was in Sac last weekend for a Middle School conference and I even got to see Jeff Corwin. If you are ever in town take a walk across this bridge and go to Joe's Crab Shack in Old Towne. It is a great place to see a sunset and eat good food = great date night.

Sunset Week 8
Another archive shot. A sunset from one of the Coves in Ko'Olina, O'ahu. Now that I am caught up I will try to stay away from my archives...unless people like these better than from my backyard.
Sunset Week 7
Here is one of my all time faves. A sunset from the infamous North Shore, O'ahu. And that is actually Dean in the shot.
Sunset Week 6
This weeks sunset is from the archives. In fact the next couple is going to be this. Between rainy weeks and a busy schedule this would have to do. Sorry. This sunset is from Nevada, Lovelock. Aside from the shadows, my family and I were the darkest thing in the entire city.

Sunset Week 5
Who can tire of God's beautiful creation. Look for some Hawaiian sunsets soon. Does anyone else see a football player diving for a touch down in the clouds?

Sunset Week 4
Another sunset taken from my backyard. It has been hard lately to capture any due to the rains, but I managed to get this a couple days ago.

Sunset Week 3
Here is a beautiful picture of a sunrise in Mt. Gilead in Seabastopol. The trees blocked any attempt for a sunset picture. Enjoy.

Sunset: Week 1
From our home we have a wonderful view of Vallejo. We are able to see unobstructed views of the city, Discovery Kingdom (formerly Marine World, formerly Six Flags, etc.), Mt. Tamalpias and other great sceneries. One of my favorites are sunsets. I have endeavoured to take on a 52 Week Sunset Project. This will entail me taking photos of the sunset each week. I have seen similar things on pbase.com and other picture sharing websites. I figured, we have the view, I have a camera, and I have a blog. So I might as well. Enjoy the pics. Please comment on them.
This first picture was taken New Years Eve by my wife. It was amazing!!! Tell me if you think the same. That Elvish guy on Lord of the Rings said when he saw a sunset like this, "Blood has been spilt this night." Well...we did have prime rib, so I guess it applies.
