Day Trip To Monterey

Waking up one morning we saw something that we haven't seen in a while...the sun. So we got ready and went to one of our favorite getaway destinations, Monterey Ca.

It was absolutely beautiful that day. In fact, in the afternoon, the weather hit almost 69 degrees. There are a couple of places that we make a tradition to go. But before we did that, Keaolani wanted to make her own traditions.

Here she is making new friends.

And sight seeing with mom.

Before we left we had to get some clam chowder and eat at Bubbas. It was a great day. Don't you wish you were there?

Sunset Week 3

Here is a beautiful picture of a sunrise in Mt. Gilead in Seabastopol. The trees blocked any attempt for a sunset picture. Enjoy.

Phone Tips

With all this hype about iPhones and its new upgrade release I figured I would liven up your existing phones with features you may not have ever known you had. Here are 5 things that I have been assured that works, I have not tried them yet. Please comment if you find out:

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

FIRST - Emergencies The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND- Hidden Battery Power Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys: *3370# Your cell will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

THIRD- Free Directory Service for Cells Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800) FREE 411, or (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.

FOURTH - How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06# A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

FIFTH- And perhaps the best one of all. Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone. If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. This will save someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Sunset: Week 1

From our home we have a wonderful view of Vallejo. We are able to see unobstructed views of the city, Discovery Kingdom (formerly Marine World, formerly Six Flags, etc.), Mt. Tamalpias and other great sceneries. One of my favorites are sunsets. I have endeavoured to take on a 52 Week Sunset Project. This will entail me taking photos of the sunset each week. I have seen similar things on pbase.com and other picture sharing websites. I figured, we have the view, I have a camera, and I have a blog. So I might as well. Enjoy the pics. Please comment on them.

This first picture was taken New Years Eve by my wife. It was amazing!!! Tell me if you think the same. That Elvish guy on Lord of the Rings said when he saw a sunset like this, "Blood has been spilt this night." Well...we did have prime rib, so I guess it applies.

Blogger Mobile

Blogger on the go. Just found out how to blog with my phone. This blogging business is great!!!

Thanks everyone for attending. It was a great time to relax with friends and speak about what God has done in our lives. This is the 6th (or 7th) time we have had this event, third time in Vallejo? Thanks for attending and let's keep the fellowship going all year round!!! Enjoy some of the pics I posted here from the party. Don't worry Eugene, I won't post any of your Santana impersonations.

Happy New Year

What a wonderful and blessed year 2007 was for the David family. There were many trials that we faced and God graciously saw us through each one of them. Proving everyday that He is our ever present Savior, Comforter, Physician, Friend, and God.

Many of you know what we faced this past year with Keaolani. We praise God that she is healthy, strong, and has even taken her first steps. All this bypassing crawling. When we place her on her hands and knees, she lays on her belly (a big one at that thanks to me) and just cries.

Well one thing that I can say that I learned this past year, is how the Gospel message becomes newer and sweeter at each stage of life. Let me explain...As a single person, the Gospel was and still is wonderful news. It let me know that in my singleness I have a God that will not just pay the penalty of the sins I have incurred, but that He will be there to take away the loneliness. He will be there when I need an ear. He will be there when I need to hear His voice through Scripture. And He will be my friend when all others are gone.

As a married person, the Gospel was shone in another light. I see now the significance and beauty of the passages that speaks of the Bridegroom coming to His church. I see the preparations that need to be done for the church. I see the importance of Christ as the Bridegroom. I see the perfect match that was made from before the creation of the world. I see the celebration and protection to be had in the marriage.

But this year, being a father, and a father to a child that keeps on getting herself in situations that she cannot get herself out of, I can see the awesome task the Lord has in the salvation of our souls and the ongoing sanctification of our lives. We as children need our Father to help us do what we cannot. Praise God that He is patient, omnipotent, and (if one could have a favorite attribute this would be mine) holy. I agree with A. Pink when he says, God's attribute of Holiness transcends all other attributes, "...it as it were, runs through them and casts lustre upon them." God can be patient, and He can be omnipotent, but because He is Holy, we can trust that this God will take care of His children in the most excellent, perfect, God-honoring way. We cannot always know the significance of each trial. We may not even see the benefit of each in this life, but one thing that we can be sure of is that God will never act outside His nature. He will always act upon His infinite knowledge, mercy, love, and to the ultimate benefit of Himself, and thus to whom He loves. He is our true loving Father that will never err.

I love Keaolani, and I would give all that I have for her. Seeing her in the hospital this last Thanksgiving suffering from a flesh eating bacteria, all I wanted to do was to take her place. But I could not do that. God graciously could and did that for us for our transgressions. I now can, of course at only a mere human level, not just sympathize, but empathize with God sending His one and only beloved child to die on the cross for the sins we have committed. The Gospel is true, it is a love story; but most importantly it is what our God did so that His people would be rectified and have a restored relationship with Him forever. Seen justified because of the mercy of His Son. Seeing the Gospel in this light makes me fall in love with Him all over again. I cannot wait what the next stage in life will put the Gospel in next.

I thank my spiritual family for all your prayers. They have been heard!!! Praise God! Let us work all the more harder this new year to use all the energy we get to serve our Father and to glorify Him. At the end of each day, always on our tongues, ever on our minds, let it be praise to our Living God and Savior!!!
