A Poet's Position: Finding Shelter for my Soul

Less than a handful of people know that I love to write poems and it's been many years since I've engaged in writing.  Yet recent events have inclined my heart to do so.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy writing them.
This first one is called:  Finding Shelter for My Soul

To find shelter for my soul, I lift my eyes up
My plead, oh Faithful One, is to again fill my cup

Sorrow that this world brings
Has emptied it to utter despair
I kneel before your wonderful throne
And secure myself to your gentle care

Your Word says You will comfort me
And give me all that I need
I fully trust in every Word
And in Christ whom I wholly believe

Oh Lord, satisfy my heart with gladness
Make my heart be glad in you alone
I will tell of the goodness you have done
As I worship Him who sits on the throne

Freedom and Blessings

"But you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst"  Exodus 23:25

Our household has much to be thankful for and much to praise God about; recently, with no other explanation but it being God's gracious work, Kaykay's skin has been healing!  A little over a week ago, I decided to see how she would do without the braces for a day.  Although still itchy and scratching, I was amazed at how infrequent she was scratching and seemed to do well without her restraints.  The following day and the next passed - the same.  Several days later, I came to the conclusion that she can do without.  I even ventured to have her sleep without her braces and she's been sleeping through out the night.

Along with the freedom, I noticed (and others have commented the same) that her skin was clearing up and that she looked like she was healing.  How good and gracious our Lord has been.  It hasn't been the easiest season for us; I literally haven't slept through out the night since she was born, so to have a week of undisturbed slumber, I have yet to get use too.  Her healing skin has also allowed her to wear short sleeves, in time for summer.  Although her legs still need more healing, we are looking forward to the day she can wear shorts!

Most are unaware what a blessing it is to have your child be able to do things for herself, to feed herself, to play without constrictions, and to wear short sleeves  - what a new and wonderful world it has been for us, and especially for her.

Praise to our Father who hears the prayers of His children.
